The King’s Road between Leira and Fagernes leads along the hillside beneath “Flaggberget” (the flagg mountain), through the forest and residental areas. If you walk towards Fagernes you can enjoy a nice view over Lake Strandefjorden along the second half of the walk. This is an easy walk, however not recommended for child carriages or cycles due to a couple of rough narrow forest paths and steeper sections. 

Vi recommend to the the bus to Leira (last stop at Amfi Leira) and walk back to Fagernes, or vice versa. Those looking for a longer walk can combine the King’s Road with the lakeside walk along Lake Strandefjorden (roughly doubbling the distance) and a side trip to the mountain flagg in Leira.
