About
This tour is suitable for the more experienced cyclists who enjoy variation and are looking for a long day out. It leads through lesser well-known and remote mountain farm areas in the eastern parts of Valdres - the municipalities of Nord-Aurdal and Øystre Slidre. The route is not signed, so you need to bring a topographical map of the area. There are several places to stop along the way.

Tour description:
From Fagernes, follow the signs to Skrautvål. There, turn right towards Valdres Skisenter and continue in the direction of Dalen. The first 9 km will take you from 365 m.a.s.l. to 900 m.a.s.l, so brace yourself for a tough start. Once you reach the high plateau you can enjoy easier cycling on good gravel roads and a spectacular view to the National Parks of Jotunheimen and Langsua. Continue via Fullsennlie, Trollåsen and Skatrudstølen to Rabbalen. From there, the road leads downhill towards Rogne. Turn left, and follow road 51 for a few km, past Rogne church, and turn left towards Skrautvål. Stay on Skrautvålsvegen back to Fagernes.
“Penalty loop”:
An extra loop wchich adds 13 km and 314 extra meters in elevation gain to the total trip leads from Fullsennlie towards Flakstadlægeret, further partly on a tractor track towards Kvitefeten and from there via Etnestølen back to Sørre Trollåsen, where you are “back on track” on the main route.
Tips:
* Walk to the summit of the hills of Fullsennknatten, Rabbalsmellen or Synhaugen to enjoy an even better view over large parts of northern Valdres.
