The hike along Lake Bygdin from Torfinnsbu to Bygdin is a classic that is easily combined with a boat journey on the Lake on the historical M/B Bitihorn.

Highest point along the route: 1124 m.a.s.l.

The trail follows more or less the shoreline all the time, with the exception of three smaller ascends over some rocky parts. The last three kilometers from Bygdisheim back to Bygdin Høifieldshotel are on a gravel road closed for motorized traffic.  

The hike can be done either way, and as a day trip, the other direction is completed by taking the boat. 

You can get to Bygdin during summer with the express bus Valdresekspressen from Beitostølen, Fagernes and Oslo. If you arrive by car, there is a parking at Fagerstrand (against a fee).
