Aurdal, Kruk, Leirin and Melladn

On the hill ridge east to the main valley of Valdres you find the cross-country skiing trail network of Aurdal/Kruk and Leirin/Melladn, stretching from Bjørgovarden on the Aurdalsåsen via Pilset and Kruk to Skrautvål and Melladn, as well as eastbound towards Dalen and Tansberg. There are approx. 250 km of tracks to explore, groomed for classical and free style. 

Between Leirin and Skrautvål there's a very popular 5 km (one way) lit trail until 10pm each day.

The family friendly hilly terrain features ups and downs with moderate ascends and fun downhill runs, far views above the tree line and sheltered trails in birch and spruce forest. There are shelters for protection and simple barbecue facilities (food and beverages are to be brought). 

The long distance trail from Beitostølen to Danebu where the annual cross-country skiing race Valdres Ski Marathon is held runs through large parts of the area.
