Svarthamar is a self-serviced DNT-cabin, idyllically located in a summer farm area in Langsua National Park. Cows are grazing right outside the cabin, in a fenced area. The cabin is from early 19th century, and looks like a traditional Norwegian summer farm. There are marked hiking trails to Svarthamarknatten, Lenningen and Liomseter.
Svarthamar has nine beds, and most of what you need for a pleasant stay; bedsheets, food and kitchen appliances, but no running water or electricity. The cabin has most of what you need for a pleasant stay, bedspreads, food and kitchen appliances. There is no inlaid electricity or water. Candle lights can be used as a light source, propane for the kitchen and water can be collected from a source outside. You need to bring your own bed sheets or sleeping bag, and the DNT key. Dogs are not allowed in the main cabin, but can stay in a separate house outside.
How to get there
You can drive all the way to the cabin during the summer (on Svarthamarvegen from Skrautvål, private toll road).
