About
The Jørn Hilme Festival is Norway's oldest folk music festival.
In 2026, the tradition of the popular sunset concert at Jaslangen in Vestre Slidre will be 20 years old. What could be more fitting than to celebrate with our very own world star on stage? It is a great pleasure for the Jørn Hilme ensemble to present Ragnhild Hemsing as this summer's artist at Jaslangen. Welcome to a magical evening with Hemsing in her home mountains!
Ragnhild Hemsing is a very versatile musician, and with both the fiddle and the Hardanger fiddle she has made it her trademark to combine the best of classical music with the folk music she knows from Valdres. She comes to Hilme with a stellar team of musicians and the project VETRA. With VETRA, Ragnhild has taken based her repertoire on folk tunes Ludvig Mathias Lindeman collected from Valdres in the mid-19th century. Here, impulses from folk music, classical and jazz will merge and take the audience on a beautiful journey into Hemsing's musical world.
