Dining at Sommerhotellet in Vang in Valdres
The restaurant is open Thursday to Saturday during the season (please see website for up-to-date information).
Our resturant focuses on local food with the "little extra", using both locally sourced ingredients and vegetables and herbs that we grow ourselves. The dining room «Utsikten» has fantastic views of the lake Vangsmjøsa and the surrounding mountains.
Stay at Sommerhotellet in Vang in Valdres
Our summer hotel is a wooden building in Swiss style from 1891 at the shoreline of Lake Vangsmjøsa. It has been restored with respect for the old building style, its charm and atmosphere and has received the award "Verneprisen 2010 fra Fortidsminneforeningen i Oppland" for the restauration of a building worthy of preservation.
The hotel features 12 different rooms, several lounges and the dining room «Utsikten» with view to the lake and the mountains. Our guests share 5 delicate bathrooms.

Kongevegen
The historical Kongevegen starts in Vang. 2-3 of the different legs along Kongevegen are suitable as day trips from the Sommerhotellet as a base.
You can also choose among many other different hikes, a mountain farm visit, historical sites and excursions if you would like to explore the area.
We recommend to combine the first leg of Kongevegen, a rather short hike, with a visit of the mountain sauna at Vennis at 922 m.a.s.l. or combine the hike with a return by canoe on the lake.
