Welcome to the incredible Snow Sculptures in Beitostølen. The sculptures are built by the same Chinese artists that works for the famous ice festival at Harbin. The first sculptures in Beitostølen were built during the winter 2017/18, among them a 14 m high stave church. Also the Norwegian Parliament - Stortinget - and the Royal Castle have been among the sculptures from earlier years.
Snow culptures in 2020
Each winter, differet sculptures are being made. In 2020 there will be 14 of them and after 14 days' work, they will be finished 21. January. You will find them all over the place, from Kiwi Beitostølen past the campground and Knuts Hyttegrend all the way to the centre of Beitostølen and the bottom of the alpine skiing centre. There are free to look at and will be standing until they melt.
You are welcome to enjoy the vision of them and take pictures, but please don't touch them. Remeber, they are made only of 100% snow.
