At Lerholshøgda in Vang you find Eldmølla, a unique sauna built on top of a waterfall in the river Drøsja with a spectacular view.
The building itself was inspired by traditional water mills (such as the ones at Leineåne). The combination of the waterfall, the view and the architecture make Eldmølla an absolutely unique experience. Eldmølla was realized through a collaboration between the land owners, architechture students of NTNU and Innovangsjon.
The farm Lerhol gård
Eldmølla is situated on the cliff edge above the farm Lerhol gård on the northern shore of Lake Vangsmjøsa. Lerhols "heimstøl" (the mountain farm closest to the main farm) is situated on the mountain slope above the farm, at 922 masl. Just below the mountain farm Eldmølla was placed, on the edge of the cliffs that plumit towards the lake.
How to get there
There are several hiking paths to the sauna. During winter, Eldstua is accessible by ski or - for the adventurous - by ice climbing the frozen waterfall.
