Eidsbugarden Hotel is a traditional hotel with a history that goes back to 1868 when the poet and mountain hiker Aasmund Olavsson Vinje built the first cabin at this location. The hotel is beautifully situated in the heart of Jotunheimen, 1065 meters above sea level at the west end of lake Bygdin.
Surrounded by majestic mountains and a wonderful nature, Eidsbugarden is a much appreciated starting point for mountain tourists. The hiking terrain is highly varied and offers both easy trails and more challenging ones, where the summits reach more than 2000 meters above sea level. In other words, here is something for both beginners and experts.
