Pointed and surrounded by glaciers, Uranostinden belongs to Jotunheimen's most beautiful peaks. The climb to its summit is varied and exciting and includes a glacier walk. Your efforts are rewarded with a fantastic view.
Experience this peak safely on a guided tour withTyin Aktiv. The season is approx. from mid July to mid September.
The route leads partly along a DNT track, partly over glacier and and partly unmarked up the rocky mountain slope. The last bit to the highest point is fairly narrow and exposed. You should be in quite good shape.
Difficulty: Demanding/expert. This hike goes up into the high alpine zone and demands a fairly good fitness leves as well as proper equipment, as solid hiking boots, weatherproof hard shell jacket with a good hood, long trousers, gloves, hat and climbing/glacier gear (held by Tyin Aktiv).
Durance: approx. 8 hours
How to get there by car: Follow the E16 to Tyinkrysset in Vang and exit onto road 53 towards Øvre Årdal. After 4 km, at Tyin, exit to the right onto road 252 to Tyinholmen. Here you turn left into the Koldedalen Valley. Parking after approx. 8 km where the road further is closed.
